Make-Up Artists

  • Amy Sachon

Being a make-up artist is always something I've wanted to do. During my time in the industry I've had the pleasure of working with inspiring writers, comedians, actors and artists. Working alongside Barry M has been fantastic and their products are not only popular with my clients but also in the fashion industry.

Make-up is an art and I advise everyone to explore it, there are so many talented artists to be inspired by, my favourite being Amber Sibly who I assist. She known for her great work in the hit movie Hell Boy. I enjoy working with colour and people and my job is truly rewarding.

  • Ava Patel

Hi, my name is Ava and I work in the fashion and beauty industry. I'm incredibly lucky to have found a job that suits my personality so well.

I love the challenge of taking the hot, crazy looks straight off the runway and moulding them into something that normal people can wear, if not every day then at least every evening.

Professional make up, by its very definition, must be suitable for the office, but I cannot see any reason why that has to make it dull and bog-standard. I think you can still have hot, sizzling make up and be taken seriously.

Outside work I love going to parties, nightclubs, concerts and festivals – anywhere really that has loud music and an equally loud dress code.

  • Daniella

I've been working as a professional make-up artist for a few years now. I've always loved make up and I studied at the London School of Beauty and Make-up. Apart from working on photo shoots and coming up with new looks and creative ideas, the big part of my job is making people who aren't models (normal people like me and you!) to look and feel great - that's probably the biggest reward of my job.

I've always been a huge fan of Barry M products because there are so many different colours, the amazing looks you can create are endless! It really is great to pass on some of my experience, to feel good about what I'm doing and, most importantly, to have fun.

  • Hannah Mizon

Hi, I am a professionally trained Bridal, TV, Fashion, Beauty and Editorial Make-up Artist.

I have been fortunate to work with hugely talented individuals within the TV and Fashion industries, these include: Signed by Katie Price - Pricey Media, Comic Relief 2011, Miss World, London 2011 and Britain & Ireland's Next Top Model LIVE

  • Klaire De Lys

I first started getting interested in being a make-up artist after a subscriber on You Tube asked me to upload a tutorial showing how I did my make-up in a song cover video. As I was already an artist and studying to be a graphic designer for me it was a simple change of medium and my experience as an artist meant that my work tended to be very 'arty'.

As there was no way I could afford to go to make-up school I decided to teach myself and began to read as many books as I could get my hands on as well as going to make-up events and talking to as many professionals as possible.

What I most enjoy about make-up apart from being able to enhance peoples appearance is how it can be used as a form of self expression. Every colour, pattern and style used says so much about personality and if a picture says a thousand words how much more does art on your face?!

  • Lauren Luke (Panacea81)

Many of you will know Lauren Luke or, as she's more often known, YouTube Guru, "Panacea81". Lauren Luke's rise to stardom was down to her natural talent for applying eye make-up and, of course, her unique presentation style. Barry M first discovered Lauren Luke because she was such a fan of Barry M - using our products in all her YouTube tutorials.

We immediately recognised her as a rising make up star and asked her to make some exclusive Barry M tutorials, which we featured our website and in our newsletters. Lauren Luke soon became Barry M's on-line ambassador and, working closely with our marketing and PR teams, we helped her to grow her 'brand', her audience and her publicity. As a result, interest from BBC TV and other companies has now allowed Lauren Luke to go on to launch her own make-up range!

Watch her first TV Debut on the BBC (see if you can spot our very own marketing man Matthew!). We are delighted for Lauren Luke and the success she deserves and we are very happy to have played our own part in her rise to stardom.

  • Lily Wilson

Hi, I'm Lily and I'm a second-year Performing Arts student. I'm passionate about dance and make up. And although I've yet to master doing both at the same time, I give it a really good try every Wednesday and Friday night!

Everyone goes on about the celebrity culture we live in, throwing their hands up and asking 'who really cares if J-Lo/Cheryl Cole has put on two pounds/a sparkly dress?!' – er,well, that would be me. I'm a 100 per cent, bona fide, celeb-aholic. I love the hair, I love the make up, I love the clothes and I want to copy it all!

Ever since I was young, I always wanted to be Kylie Minogue when I grew up, now I just want her stylist!

  • MakeupAdikt

I believe all people posses beauty whether inside or out. My mission is to empower people and give them the confidence like I did through the use of make-up and bring out the inner Diva we ALL have within us. I hope I can be an inspiration to you all!

I am a mum and a qualified Architect. I work as a freelance Architect whilst also looking after the kids full-time. I took up make-up as a hobby in February 2009 when I discovered I could actually do it. I started posting pictures on Panacea81 fan page on Facebook and its just developed from there. I have enjoyed doing tutorials for Barry M's YouTube Channel and am currently doing some make-up designs for Make-up Geek's Ideas Gallery.

  • Sophie Jones

Hi, I'm Sophie. I'm 16 and live in Wales. I've just started my first term studying Beauty Therapy at college and am mega-in-love with it already. It feels so great to be out of a stuffy classroom and learning about something I am actually interested in – make up!

I love writing for Barry M as it lets me combine my two biggest passions – trying out new looks and trends on anyone who will stand still long enough, and then talking about it!

Away from studying and playing with eyeshadow, I love art, dolphins and all poetry as long as it's not schmaltzy. Or a limerick.

Oh and I have a huge, enormous obsession with Twilight, both books and films. Hands off Robert Pattinson, he's mine!
