Lookz - Lips
Lips can be enhanced to give them a natural, fuller and healthier appearance.
Lipstick and Lip Liners
Lipsticks come in many forms. Matte lipstick is heavy in wax and pigment, lighter in emollients and has more texture than shine. Cream lipstick is a balance of shine and texture. Glosses have high shine and low colour.
For the best control of lipstick application, use a square-tipped lip brush with short, firm bristles to apply lipstick colour.
- Always moisturise your lips before you start applying your lipstick. Without moisturisation, getting the perfect pout is virtually impossible.
- Draw an outline with your lip pencil to give yourself an even lip shape.
- If you feel like your lips are too full there is a trick for lining them that will reduce them. When lining your lips line them just inside the natural line. If you want to hold the shape, fill in your lips with the liner prior to applying your colour. This little tip makes a big difference.
- To minimize vertical cracks in your lips, first outline your lips with a lip pencil.
- Next, "smile" while applying the colour and apply the lipstick vertically. Doing so will give you more complete lipstick coverage while minimizing fine lines.
- Fill in your lips using the same pencil. This creates a very strong base for lipstick.
- Apply your lipstick.
- Apply a crystal clear or Colourful Lip-Gloss as a topcoat. If you don't use gloss or sealant - it's always a great idea to dust lips lightly with a Transparent Powder to help lock in colour.
Choosing the Right Colour
Most important things for choosing the right colour are skin colour, hair colour and shape of your lips.
- For light skin and blonde hair - All shades of orange, pink, and purple.
- For dark skin and dark hair - All shades of red, violet.
- For light skin and dark hair - All shades of brown and beige.
- For red hair women - Coral-red, brown and bronze colours.
For Full Lips
You really don't need lip liner, but if you like the look, soften edge with your finger. Don't wear any lip colour that is too glossy or shiny. Make large lips look smaller by using deeper colours of lipstick.
For Thin Lips
Draw slightly beyond the lip with a neutral-coloured lip pencil. Then apply lipstick. Don't wear a very dark shade of lipstick; it makes lips look smaller.
Need Contrast or Impact?
Mix your lipstick or gloss with a lighter or darker shade. Blend and mix two lipstick shades or two glosses. Blend a Frost or Shimmer in to get a pearlised look or try a chocolate brown to deepen any shade. Adding a clear or glamorous Colourful Lip-Gloss on top of any colour will completely change the look.
Lip Gloss
Lip-gloss should be used to get a gleaming look. However, women with extra full lips should use lip-gloss very sparingly. Apply lip gloss or lip shine over lipstick or alone. Remember that gloss would emphasise and therefore make your lips appear to be fuller.
Why not try mixing your favourite Dazzle Dust with your lip gloss to create a completely new and unique shade!?
