Wake Up!
'Wake Up!', a catchy psychedelic pop-punk stomper (produced by Yo Majesty's David Alexander), was inspired when Dee and Sue saw a TV ad for Barry M with the tagline, "Wake Up your Make Up!"
"We'd always loved Barry M" says Dee. "They've got great colours and Sue and I wear their products on and off stage. But when we saw their ad on TV last year – featuring a girl on guitar – we threw down our lipsticks and said; Barry M, we're gonna write you a song! We're girls who can really play guitars!"
Fast forward some weeks and the new Barry M inspired song, "Wake Up", had been written and Dee and Sue were at the Barry M offices in Mill Hill, London, to meet Barry M MD, Dean Mero, and the team.
"Many of our staff knew Robots in Disguise and that they liked our products", explains Dean, "so when they phoned me up saying they'd written a song for us, I was intrigued".
"One of the many advantages we have being based in the UK and a family run business is that we're very approachable and open to new ideas. Especially when they come from our fans."

What happened next?
Dee and Sue left that meeting, not only with a commitment from Barry M to finance a video for the song but also with a .plan for total world domination based on a new Robots in Disguise Barry M make up 'look' – a newly created lipstick in a particular shade of royal (now Robot) blue. The perfect collaboration for a band who've been rocking with a gallery of make-up looks and theatrical costumes way before Lady Gaga!
Sue Denim explains more; "The song, 'Wake Up', is an anthem to creativity and self-expression for all including being artistic with make-up! Barry M's make-up product names proved perfect lyrical material for the track's tripped out verses; ."Petrol Black, Midnight, Aqua Gold, Parrot Green, Chocolate and the newest, Robot Blue."
"So, there and then, we had an OK for the video, a look for it and an exclusive product!" Barry M agreed that 'Robot Blue' would go into production and they'd use it to promote our work together.
